Standing tall at the height of 100m, A’DAM tower is on the river banks of IJ in Amsterdam Noord. Arthur Staal, the Dutch architect, designed the building in 1966. The tower was built on behalf of Shell and hence was earlier known as Shell Tower. The construction of the Shell tower was completed in 1971. The tower ceased to be the headquarters of Shell in 2009 when the company moved out. The tower went through a few renovations from then on till 2014, when it was decided that it will be remodeled to house several offices, a revolving restaurant, an observation deck along with entertainment options. Claus and Kaan Architects designed the new building, and after extensive renovation work, A'DAM tower opened to the public in 2016.

Individual groups with a maximum number of 10 can opt for the A’DAM VIP tours that include an educative tour of the tower, museum, the concept of building and history.

How To Get There?
Amsterdam Schiphol is an International airport connecting to almost all major cities in the world. You can travel from the airport to the city center or hotels through private taxis and airport coach buses. Use public transport like train, bus or tram to reach Amsterdam Central Station. Hop on a free ferry headed to Buiksloterweg. The tower is a 2-minute walk from there. If you are arriving in your car, put the destination as ‘Overhoeksplein 1’ on your navigation system to get to the tower.
It is recommended to arrive at LOOKOUT at least half hour early if you have booked for the Over the Edge Swing. You will need to buy an additional ticket for Over the Edge swing, which can be purchased at the box office or on the rooftop entrance. ‘Over the Edge’ is not recommended for children if they are shorter than 1.30m.
