Go on an underwater journey with the Aquarium of Western Australia
The idea to build the underwater tunnel aquarium has been on the mind of Mr Russell Eathorne and Mr Kester Macfarlane since 1985. Then, 3 years later, the aquarium was opened to public with the name Underwater World on 13 April. However, Underwater World was purchased by Coral World International on 12 August 1991, and the name was changed to its present name on 1 January 2001. The facility continued to develop by opening new exhibits and introduce new attractions, while at the same time is working together with other parties to provide educational activities and raise the awareness and understanding of the marine life. The last additionals to the facility was done in 2017, with the expansion of the outdoor area, including a diving aquarium, playground, and the multi-purpose amphiteatre seating.
In the Aquarium of Western Australia, you can visit five different exhibitions, each with its own uniqueness.
