As the oldest museum in Burgas, Archaeological Museum is preserving as the cultural and historical heritage of some of the most ancient towns in the present Bulgarian territory - Sozopol (Apollonia), Nessebar (Messambria), Pomorie (Anhialo) and others. Archaeological museum is one of the four expositions in Regional historical museum Burgas. Debelt Archaeological Society was esthablishing this museum in 1912 as the private museum in Burgas. The exposition of Archaeological Museum presents the collections of archaeological discoverings related to ancient Thrace, the Greek colonies along the Black Sea coast and the time of the Roman Empire. There is an exhibition in the hall of the museum which features the archaeological findings from the entire place of Burgas.
The ethno workshop will make you feel closer to the Bulgarian folk culture, to the games and handicrafts of our ancestors: weaving on a tile or on a vertical loom, making rag dolls, pompons, tassels, necklaces and woven flowers, crochet and Bulgarian embroidery, sewing and decorating small bags. In this workshop, you are able to learn about Bulgaria's traditional songs amd refrains, figure of symbolism, rituals, and custom part of Bulgarian calender. You are also allowed to create a maiden wrist for Enyovden and a huge garland of 77 and a half herbs. Enyovden is the festival of the sun, herbs and dew in the settlements along the Black Sea. Natural History Department of Regional Historical Museum Burgas offers a new opportunity for the children in the city to spend their summer vacation. The department organizes the environmental training program called Adventure in The Museum. This program was started since 2012 until now. This activity will be held during 5 days a week. Children will be divvided into two groups, under 14 years old and abve 14 years old. Each group consists of 10 children. The activity includes biological program presentation and creative games. This Adventure in The Museum is free program and it funded under the project 'Natural History Museum in help of environmental education' of RIM Burgas and America for Bulgaria: Since it is free, the seat for this program is limited. If you are interesting to register your child, you can have a registration in the National History Museum.
This club is made in order to attract people interest to know about Bulgarian nature and its preservation. The name of this club was taken from the one of three important lakes in Burgas, Lake Vaya. This club was created by the biology lecturer in Burgas. The club activities include the presentation on various biological and ecological topics, film screenings for plants, animals, rocks and minerals, and trips to the nature for study and conservation.Everyone can come to this club since there is no age restriction to join this club.
