Situated in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, California, Belmont Park is a significant oceanfront amusement park developed by John D. Spreckels, a wealthy sugar magnate, in the early 1900s. The park first opened its doors as the Mission Beach Amusement Center on July 4, 1925. Ever since then, it has been San Diego's only boardwalk and beachfront amusement park. There are no entry tickets and the parking is also free of cost. You only pay for the rides you choose. There's the historic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster that takes you back in history.
