The room is situated in the center of the Museum with two aims. Firstly, to provide a platform for the dissemination of art and knowledge generated by the publication of the Fine Art Museum. And secondly, to encourage the creation of scholarly texts in the Basque language.

Opened in the year 1985, it features an extensive collection of more than thirty thousand essays and three hundred periodical journals and publications along with single subject essays, museum collection catalogs, art theories, handbooks on museology, an exhibition and auction catalogs. The texts, books, and journals of the library which are published by the museum, itself depict the art techniques, restoration, and conservation works of art history and movement in sculpture, art, decorative art, design, architecture, drawing, painting, graphic arts, films, and photographies. The library opens from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for all the days. It requires a special appointment on Tuesdays.
