Castillo San Felipe Del Morro is also known as Fuerte San Felipe del Morro or Castillo del Morro. It is a 16th century citadel located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Castillo San felipe del Morro is the most beloved landmark in Puerto Rico. It is one of the most scenic locations in the Caribbean with resplendent architecture. The historic site can be a lot of fun to be explored nowadays. El Morro is divided into six levels, each level offers something interesting for visitors. Most of the levels can be reached through ramps. Del Morro Fort stands guard at the entrance to San Juan Harbor. This beautiful 6-level landmark was named in honor of Spain's King Philip II.

Camuy Caves is a park located in Southwest of San Juan. It is about two hours driving from the heart of the city. The park is one of the largest underground formations in the western hemisphere. The view is great. You can really enjoy the area and the magnitude of the skinhole, and height, and the length of the ziplines. When you have a tour at San Juan, it is fun to visit the cave and explore hundred of limestone caves along the underground rivers. Camuy Cave is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Puerto Rico. During the peak seasons, it can be a very busy place, so it is wise to visit early in the day. It can be reached by car. There is no public transportation to the park, however some charter buses do service the area.

San Bay is a popular beach in San Juan. The beach is well known for its beautiful evenings. It is also the only beach in Vieques with public facilities. The beach has showers, bathrooms, a small area to purchase food, and a short walk away called Esperanza. The water is shallow for a walk out, and the waves are mild. That would be such a perfect place to visit with family. It is also great for family with kids. The best time to visit the San Bay is early in the morning to enjoy sunrise, and in the afternoon to enjoy sunset. It is open from dawn to dusk every day, but the beach facilities only open from Wednesday to Sunday. Beach access is free. You just need to pay the parking fee if you ride private transportation. The parking fee is $2 USD from Wednesday to Sunday. Parking is free on Mondays and Tuesdays.

If you really like shopping, visiting Calle Del Cristo is a must. The shopping street is located at Calle del Cristo, San Juan. It is a heaven of restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques. In addition to popular stores, when you walk the cobblestone street, you can discover local crafts and artisan shops. Calle del Cristo is also a great photo-taking opportunity. Along the street you can find two famous chapels: the San jose Church and the Capilla de Cristo. Those two chapels are closed for visitors while they undergo renovations. You can also swing by Pigeon Park to see kinds of birds waiting to be fed. The street is free to visit and it is accessible at any time.

How to Get Tickets?

The admission fee to the Fort is $7.00 per person for ages 16 and older. It is free for children under 15 years old. The ticket is good for visiting both El Morro and San Christobal Forts. You can get the ticket online or directly purchase it in the ticketing desk available in the site.

How To Get Around?

Taking a walk is the best choice to go around the El yunque National Forest. San Juan is a pleasant city for pedestrian. You can go around to the tourists areas of Condado, Ocean park, and Old san Juan. Those places are great for pedestrians. You can enjoy the main attractions in San juan, great restaurants, shoppings, and nightlife by walking or taking taxi. You can also find Uber in the city. Puerto rico is a fun island to explore by car. While you are getting around, don't forget to bring your camera and snap as many photos as you can.

What Should I Wear?

There is no dress code when you have a tour in the El Morro Fort. The only thing that is important is you should wear comfortable shoes or sandals and stuff. Make sure you bring some sun screen protections like: sun block, sunglasses, hat, scarf, or face mask. It is comfortable to wear t-shirt, skirt, pants, dress, or light jacket. T-shirt and long pants are the most reccomended stuff to wear since the weather is quite hot during the days.

Visiting the Fort in the afternoon to enjoy the beautiful sunset is always the best choice. There are abundance of locals and tourists enjoy the sunset in the Fort every day. If you want to avoid the crowd, visit the Fort in the morning when it is recently opened. If you come around 11.00 a. m , the Fort is started to crowd.

How To Get There?

To get to El Morro from the city center, you can take bus number 212 to ciundamar, then take a walk for about 20 minutes. It is also worth to take a taxi to reach the Fort. A round-trip taxi ride from Parque Cespedes should not be more than $25.
