Christ Church is a continuent college with the University of Oxford and is a joint foundation with the college and the cathedral. Christ Church offers many study program for you who are interested to study there including arts, social science, and physical science. Christ Church College is not only providing undergraduate study, but also gradutes or master program. Not only college, Christ Church also provides cathedral. Even though you are studying in Christ Church, it is not a problem if you are not a Christian. You can still visit the cathedral and admires its architecture and also watching some singing activities there.

1. The Meadow and The Meadow Building

1. The Meadow and The Meadow Building

The Meadow in Christ Church is an open space which are full of green grass and a refreshing atmosphere. The Meadow itself located near the rivers Cherwell and Thames. The Thames is also famous for its Isis, the college row boats team. The meadow also provides many fascinating performances, including a dramatic history of the Chirst Church. The meadow also has broad walk along its area that allows you to have some walking or jogging exercise. The Meadow Building is mainly a place for the undergraduates. The Meadow Building was built in the Venetian architecture that make it looks old and gothic yet it still show its charms. Visitors are allowed to go inside The Meadow Building but they need to respect the academic activities inside.

As what have stated before, Christ Church also has a big cathedral which also the college's cathedral. The cathedral was built in 1546 by Henry VIII and it has through so many things like the English Civil War. Inside the cathedral, you will see so many beautiful things related to the Christian faith like the shrine of St. Frideswide. The church's inside interior is mainly dominated with gold and cream colors. Inside the cathedral, there are also some places that were purposely build for the remembrance of people who are devoting their lives for the cathedral in the World wars. To the left of the main altar, there is another altar called Bell Altar built in remembrance of the Bishop George Bell who protect German civilans in the World War II. There is also a chapel inside the cathedral called the Chapel of Remembrance built to remember the servicemen and women who fight on that period. There are several things that you can do inside the cathedral. If you are a Christian, it is recommended to have a prayer inside. If you are not a Christian, that it is also recommended to visit the cathedral and watch some singing and choir activities.

You may get confuse when you are visiting The Old Library and not found any books there. The only thing that is remain from The Old Library is its shell. However, in 1562 it was the largest and the most complete library in Britain. The Old Library building is now being an accomodation for the members of the college. After you visit The Old Library, you will come to The Cloister. The Cloister is a shelter provided for the monks to move from the outside world and find peace. If you are a fans of Harry Potter movies, The Cloister can be seen in the movie where Harry is shown the Quidditch trophy that his father won several years ago.

Bodley Tower which can be seen from Tom Quad is originally an addition building built by an achitecture called G.F Bodley. Although it was built as an addition towards the older buildings, you will never get any disappointment when you are visiting Bodley Tower. As you pass into the tower, you will arrived on the staircases towards the Hall. Before going up, make sure that you noted the 'No peel' graffiti. The graffiti itself was actually a criticism towards towards Robert peel who was opposing some of the activities inside the Christ Church like barred Catholics from holding public positions.

The staircases in the Bodley Tower will lead you into a big hall. In the hall, you will discover the Buttery on its left side that is basically a bar where you can enjoy some wine, whiskey, beer, and a special drinks made by the Christ Church. The hall was built in the Renaissance architecture with many big windows on the upper wall of the Boadley Tower. If you are visiting The Hall, make sure to not missing the beautiful ceiling. The ceiling was built by Humphfrey Coke, Henry VII's main carpenter with so many windows that having a picture of saints in Catholic in many colors. The Hall was also appeared in the Harry Potter films as the main place to eat with all the students and the teachers.

Although that this building is now function as a shop, this building still have many history behind it. The Chapter House is one of the oldest building in Christ Church which was built in between 1220 and 1240. The door inside The Chapter House was the main inspiration for Lewis Caroll to make the Queen Alice's door. The room also has Diocesan Treasury of church plate. If you are interested in visiting Christ Church, it is recommended to buy the tickets online from the Chrits Church's website because if you are queueing, you might not get the tickets. If you are planning to visit Christ Church there are plenty of public transportations that you can take. You can go there by train both London Paddington and Marylebone stations to the Oxford Stations. You can also take the coach. There are three coaches that will take you to Christ Church which are National Express, The Oxford Tube, and The Airline. You can also go there by bus and it is very easy since there are many numbers that will take you to Christ Church. However, we recommend not to go there by car since it will be difficult to find a parking place.
