Erected in the traditional style of Bengal architecture 'Nava Ratna', the sanctorum 'Garbha Griha' features an idol of Goddess Kali commonly known as Bhavatarini along with two silver icons on a thousand lotus petals. The colossal Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a famous and rare temple of Indian origin. Tuesdays and Thursdays are the auspicious days for worshipping Goddess Kali. Moreover, the Sandhya Aarti is the chief attraction of devotees.

The complex of Dakshineswar Temple highlights twelve identical temples of Lord Shiva. Erected opposite to the Kuthi Bari, the interior of the Shiva Temples is embellished with black and white stones. Facing towards the East, all the temples erected the marvel Bengal architecture 'Aat Chala.' Out of these twelve, six of them shrine on the right of the river bank while the other six are on the left. Chadni, the river bank, divides these series of temples.
