How To Get There?
Dazu District is located 167 km from the city center of Chongqing City. Travelers can take long distance coach to Dazu from Chongqing.Coach from Chongqing Caiyuanba Bus Station or Longtousi Bus Station to Dazu will take 1.5 hrs - 2 hrs, and the ticket is about CNY 50. After arriving Dazu, you can take bus No.205 and the last stop is entrance of Baodingshan Rock Carvings scenic area.This will take about half hour.If you are not in hurry, you can take this bus to Baodingshan. However, bus No .205 is very crowded, and there will be one every 20 to 30 minutes.If you are going to Beishan, you can take a taxi or just walk to there after arriving at Dazu Bus Station. The most convenient way to Dazu is taking private car to there, and this will only need about 40 minutes.After arriving at the scenic spot, park the car at the mountain foot, then walk to the scenic area. For travelers from Chengdu, you can take high speed train to Chongqing first, then transfer to Dazu, or you can take coach from Hehuachi in Chengdu to Dazu, and the journey is about 4 hours to 5 hours.
After finishing the tour in Beishan, it's hard to find a cab in the mountain, so tourists need to walk for a short distance to the mountain foot, and you can appreciate the mountainous scenery of Dazu during this time. Most tourists will first visit Baodingshan Rock Carvings, then visit Beishan Rock Carvings. It's rather far from Chongqing to Dazu, and if you only plan to spend one day in Dazu and return to Chongqing at the same day, and if you take coach to Dazu, then you will cost about 2.5 hours - 3 hours to the scenic area.
