The Zoological Galleries of the museum include about 11 halls which have adjoined galleries of sculptures and structures of various birds, animals, reptiles, fishes, invertebrates, mammals, amphibians and much more along with including the skeleton remains of some of them. One of the most important and attractive section of this gallery is the Reptile Gallery which includes specimens of some the most fascinating snakes of the country out which some are poisonous and are some are not along with housing specimens of crocodiles, lizards and much more. A Bird Gallery is also encountered in the same section which includes a gallery of systematically arranged birds of South India in modernised show cases with imperial lighting works. The oldest gallery here is the Mammal Gallery has now been evacuated and turned into a gallery of Fishes including one of the most valuable specimens of a huge whale shark which has been suspended from the building.

The Botany Section of the museum includes dry and wet specimens of a number of plants which are uniquely found in the city. The museum also offers detailed lectures and programs in the form of events co0nducted by well-known scholars from the country who hold vast knowledge in the same rea of specialisation. Along with this, the section building also combines of a library of the same topics which hold majorly 900 books about the plants and their different species. A number of about 150 flowering plants along with timber trees, rose wood and Teak wood are also easily spotted.

The Numismatics Section of the museum includes a number of varieties of coins which range from the history of the city as well as the country. Coins made of gold, silver, copper, lead, iron, billon, and potin ranging from the medieval, ancient, and modern India are embraced in the showcases here. Around 250 medals are also present in the museum out of which most of them are exhibition medals, some are the Mysore medals and much more.
