Guadalajara Cathedral is a historical and iconic church located in the beautiful town of Guadalajara, Mexico. Inspired by the Spanish Renaissance style architecture and designing the cathedral is a beautiful, alluring, fascinating, and enchanting attraction in the world. Often referred to as the Cathedral of the Assumption of Our Lady, this ancient structure has faced a lot of destructions in the past. In the year 1574, it caught fire and was damaged severely. In the year 1818, Guadalajara was hit by a severe earthquake which shattered the dome and the towers of the cathedral. Later in 1849, the recovered parts were again destroyed by a subsequent earthquake. The reconstruction work took several years, and the cathedral finally opened its heart for the public in the year 1854 when Pope Pius XII elevated it to the rank of Minor Basilica.
