The exhibition area of the museum covers a massive area of eleven thousand square meters. All the exhibits of the museum find a place in the nineteen galleries which are present in the museum premises. Among the nineteen galleries, ten galleries have an orthogonal design which is evident from the outside of the museum. These ten galleries are adorned with the beauty of limestone marbles. The other nine galleries are decorated with titanium. The largest gallery in the museum is thirty meters wide and one-hundred and thirty meters long and is notable for housing a permanent exhibit made by Richard Serra which is the heart of the museum.

The museum holds paintings by some eminent painters like William De Kooning, Mark Rothko, Jenny Holzer, Anselm Kiefer, etc. Generally, temporary thematic exhibitions are also organised by the museum authorities. These exhibitions depict a particular era or style such as Chinese art or Russian art. The heart of the museum resides in the only permanent exhibition of the museum called, The Matter of Time, which is a work of Richard Serra and finds its place in the largest gallery of the museum.
