There are 24 variety of trees in the park including sugar-apple, neem, word-apple, and Atlantia monophylla.

The Fauna of the national park include around 14 species of mammals which include common palm civet, hyena, common mongoose, hedgehog, spotted deer, blackbuck, jackals, chital, three-striped palm squirrel, small Indian civet, bonnet macaque, and many more. Along with these, there are around 150 species of birds including large egrets, honey buzzard, tailor bird, stone curlew, robin, minivets, paradise flycatcher, grey partridge, drongo, golden-backed woodpecker, red-wattled lapwing, medium egrets, pond herons, shrikes, quail, crow pheasants and many more. 9 species of amphibians are also present in the park along with a few species of reptiles including lizards, snakes, chameleons, and others.

The Guindy Snake Park is a part of the Guindy National Park campus. The park houses a number of snakes of various species and types including pythons, cobras, vipers, adders, and many others. There are 23 species of snakes, 7 species of crocodiles, 3 various species of turtles and tortoises each, and 6 various species of lizards. A small auditorium is also included in the premises of the park with a projector that displays the exhibits of the park and is a touch screen so that it becomes more attractive as well as interactive. There is also a library, which has a number of books stocked in its premises about the same and also a museum which displays the preserved specimens of various reptiles.

The Childrenís Park

The Childrenís Park

The Childrenís Park is also housed in the premises of the Guindy National Park and is a home to the animals who are harmless and to which the children can interact easily and play along. The animals in this section include common otter, common langur, parrots, sambar, bonnet monkey, and many more. The facility of drinking water and snacks is made available in this area. There are also specimens which range back to around 20 million years of age of trees in a fossilised form.
