Often referred as 'The Palace of Breeze' or 'The Palace of Winds', Hawa Mahal is famous monument in the pink city of India, Jaipur and is made of entirely pink and red sandstone. The structure was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. Lal Chand Ustad specially designed the structure of the palace. The Mahal was built to offer a view of happenings on the streets of the city from the specially designed palace windows. The windows in the palace appear like a honeycomb with almost 953 windows, that are referred to as the 'Jharokhas'. These windows also allowed a cool breeze to enter the palace so that the place became more pleasant during summers.
