Jardin des Plantes is a botanical garden and arboretum which is located in the city of Montpellier and is the oldest botanical garden in France. The garden has many varieties of species of plants from around the world. It was built by the order of King Henri IV and now it is under the University of Montpellier I and has been classified as one of the Historical Monuments and Protected Sites. Dogs and any other animals are not allowed inside the Jardin des Plantes. The Jardin des Plantes opens from 12pm to 8pm everyday, except on Mondays.
