Jardin des Plantes is a botanical garden and arboretum which is located in the city of Montpellier and is the oldest botanical garden in France. The garden has many varieties of species of plants from around the world. It was built by the order of King Henri IV and now it is under the University of Montpellier I and has been classified as one of the Historical Monuments and Protected Sites. It is the perfect place for you to take an afternoon stroll with your family and friends and is a lovely place for you to see in the middle of the city.

The Promenade du Peyrou is also a place where you can feel the cool breeze in the city and it provides a lot of shades under the trees. Porte du Peyrou is the Arc de Triomphe of Montpellier. It is located at the eastern part of Jardin de Peyrou and is in the city center, right behind the Promenade du Peyrou. There are reliefs on the triumphal arch and shows the four major events from the reign of Louis XIV. The Porte de Peyrou is 15 meters high and behind it is the Rue Foch. This place is an iconic place in Montpellier so make sure you come to Porte du Peyrou and take pictures of the Arc de Triomphe of Montpelllier.
