Lago do Paranoá or also known as Paranoá Lake is an artificial lake located in the eastern part of Brasilia. The park was built to raise the humidity level of Brasilia as the city is quiet dry. The lake was constructed in 1959 with the width of 40 kilometers square and the depth of 48 meters. Not only that it is function to raise the humidity level in Brasilia, it is also function as a tourist spot. Located in the margins of Paranoá Lake, The Palácio da Alvorada is the official residence of the President of Brazil. Palácio da Alvorada has been the residence of every Brazilian president since Juscelino Kubitschek. The building is also listed as a National Historic Heritage Site.
2. Don Bosco Chapel
The Chapel of Don Bosco is a small chapel built in honor of the man named after it. This small chapel was built in the shape of a pyramid and covered with white marble. The chapel also has a metallic cross on top of it. Inside the temple is the image of the prophet carved in marble by the Arreghini brothers of Italy, brought in a river procession in 1962. Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil is located in the Club Sector Sul, Ext. 2 (near the JK bridge). The cultural center was inaugurated in 1993 as the main building of Training Center of Banco do Brasil. In Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, there are many things that you can enjoy here. In the movie theater, you can watch some indie films made by indie artists from Brazil. There are also some music and art performances that you can enjoy here.
4. Brasilia Digital TV Tower
Brasilia Digital TV Tower is the youngest monument in Brasilia. The monument was first established in April 21, 2012 to celebrate the 52nd birthday of Brasilia city. This building was the last building designed by Oscar Niemeyer before his death. The monument has the height of 170 m. Brasilia Digital TV Tower is open every day from 9 am to 6 pm. The bus will depart from W3 Sul station in the center of Brasilia and the ride will took around an hour and 20 minutes. The ticket for the bus will cost around 7 to 8 real. If you are traveling alone, it is also recommended to go to Lago do Paranoá by bicycle. The ride will took around 45 minutes from Brasilia via EPDB.
