Located in center of Bruges, Markt is Market Square which covers an area about 1 hectares. Some attractions around the square include the 12th century Belfry and and the West Flanders Provincial Court which was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style in 1887. In the heart of the market, there stand Jan Breydel and Pieter de Coninck statues. This market has entirely renovated in 1995 and it was opened again in 1996 by the concert of Helmut Lotti. The parking area in this market was removed and it became the traffic free area.
