The jewellery are offering to the mountain spirits that is believed dwelling in Segara Anak. Pekelan Ceremony's purpose is none other than to please the spirits and seek their protection and blessing as Mount Rinjani is believed to be the holder of fire ring area alongside two other sacred mountains: Mount Bromo in Java and Mount Agung in Bali.
During your trekking, you'll stumble upon several enchanting caves waiting to be explored. The most interesting of all is Goa Susu or roughly translated as Milk Cave in English. You might won't find anything that is related to the dairy product while exploring inside the cave, but the natural cave is breath-taking nonetheless. Located deep inside the mountain, Goa Susu offer serene atmosphere, a perfect place to spend few minutes to meditate. In fact, the cave used to be the favorite meditation place for the hermits. However, only certain people with clean and noble heart may come inside the cave. While people with tainted heart will find difficulties to enter the cave. There's a hotspring deep inside the cave, locals believe that the water can cure all kinds of disease.
Ease your fatigue by soaking in Kokok Putih natural hotspring. It's a great place to relax your muscles after a long trekking while at the same time trekkers can enjoy cool breeze of the mountain. Like any parts in Mount Rinjani, Kokok Putih hotspring is also considered as a sacred place by the locals. Many people claimed that they've encountered mysterious experiences while relaxing in the spring, while the others believe that the water in Kokok Putih hotspring can heal all illnesses due to its sulfuric components.
A pleasant surprise awaits you when you're getting closer to the peak, you'll be welcomed with a rare view of Edelweiss flower field stretching across the grass field. Edelweiss is a mountain flower type that is rarely found in tropical countries like Indonesia, and most of the time they only grow in European mountain ranges such as Alps and Carpathians. It's rather surprising to find that such flowers grow wildly in Mount Rinjani. Some people might be tempted to pluck the flowers and bring a bouquet of Edelweiss for their beloved, but you should remember that the act is highly forbidden by the locals. They believe that the Edelweiss flowers are huge part of the Spirit Kingdom nestled in Mount Rinjani.
Tetebatu Village is a quaint village located in the Mount Rinjani's feet. The village is a place for all travellers to stay for a night or two after exhausting trekking journey. Tetebatu Village offer not only some serenity for the travellers, but they also boast picturesque view of the great Mount Rinjani and its surroundings. The village itself is also dominated with tobacco plantations and ricefields offering vast view of lush greens whereever you go. The weather is also cool and pleasant, most people will find it hard to leave the serene village.
How to Get Tickets?
Mount Rinjani is located in Mount Rinjani National Park in West Nusa Tenggara. To enter the national park, every visitor will have to pay Rp 150.000,- or about $12 USD for admission fee.

What Should I Wear?
Mount Rinjani is a mountainous area so obviously the weather might gets chilly especially in the afternoon. Wear simple outfits that allow you to move freely (dresses are absolutely a No-Go). Don't forget to wear your most comfortable hiking shoes to protect your feet during hiking.

Public hiking season usually start from July to August. The hiking activity won't be held during rainy season for safety reasons.

How To Get There?
The most common way to reach Mount Rinjani is by crossing the sea by ferry boat to Gilimanuk Port, that departs from Ketapang Port. From the port, you can take any public buses to Ubung Bus Stop. From the bus stop, take another bus that will takes you to Padangbai Port. Take a ferry boat to Lombok, and head to Mandalika Bus Stop in Mataram. Continue your journey to Sembalun Lawang. From Sembalun Lawang to Mount Rinjani National Park will takes you about 2 hours.
