As the highest point in Old Jerusalem, Mount Zion is the wider hill in the south of Armenian Quarter Old City. This hill becomes the metaphoric symbol for the whole city and the promise land. Following the wall, you will find the Dormition Abbey in the corner of the church. Dormition Abbey is the Catholic Church that was built in the early of 20th century. This church was dedicated for Mary, which is said has fallen into the eternal sleep. There is a statue of Mary where she is lying on her back. Under the dorm, there are some archeologicals of Zion Hagia Bizantium Church.

After visiting Dormition Abbey, go back to the unction and take the right side. You'll find Cenacle in the left door. Cenacle is the place where Jesus has the last supper with his disciples and the Pentecost happens. However, Cenacle was not accepted as the last supper's room as what is mentioned in the Bible. The research showed that this room was built above the church-synagogue by Jews in the first century. This church is believed as the first church in Jerusalem since the graffiti of Jesus' name was found there.

How to Get Tickets?

You can purchase tickets via online. All tickets must be booking before you are visiting Mount Zion. Remember, tickets are personal use; you cannot transfer it to the other. If you are joining tours, make sure you have registered via online and arrive 30 minutes before the tour is begun.

How To Get Around?

Walking is the best option to get around Mount Zion. Since most of the attractions are inside the Mount Zion, you can take a fun walk to visit the attractions. Also, you get around outside the Mount Zion by walking, the attractions are close each other.

No, transportation is easy and everything can be found in this site. Mount Zion can be reached by your own since it is near to the center of the city. There is a self-guidance tour that can be used to walk around the Old City of Jerusalem.

How To Get There?

Mount Zion can be reached by car from the road in the Old City. It is better to leave your car in the hotel and walk to the Mount Zion (from outside of the Old City through the garden – from Mammilla turn right and follow the Old City wall). You can also use bus, light train and taxi.
