1. The Building and Architecture
National Museum of Archaeology is occupied the building in Republic Street, Auberge de Provence. Auberge de Provence is the example of Baroque arhcitecture in Valletta. Baroque architecture is highly ornate and is the luxurious style of architecture. The architect, Gilomu Cassar built this building in 1571. It was used as the house of the Knight of St John who was coming from Provence, French.
2. Exhibition At National Museum of Archaeology
The exhibition in this museum presents the wonderful artefacts from prehistoric time until the early history. This is the first thing to do at National Museum of Archaeology is getting into the first section of the room. In this first room, you will discover the host pieces of track man's in the early up to temple period in Malta. It is followed by the collection of early tools that were used by prehistoric people. The famous artefact is Sleeping Lady found in the Hypogeum around 5000 years ago which is displayed in the main hall of National Museum of Archaeology. It shows the lady prop up her hand while she is sleeping. The other famous things are Fat Ladies sculpture, Venus de Malta and Red Scorba Ornaments. The last room in this museum displays collectables form the temple period which include pottery, tools, beads and other interesting and special ornaments for visitors to learn and explore.

Entering the the museum, you will get a good introduction from the museum about the prehistory and early history of Maltese Island. This is a must thing to do at National Museum of Archaeology. The museum gives opportunity for its visitors to see the museum's new collection of coin. This new collection has recently inaugurated . Besides the coin, there is also a temporary exhibition that provides information about Malta's prehistory project. You can do this activity by joining the National Museum of Archaeology tours.
