The Desert Botanical Garden is a beautiful garden established in 1939 in the city of Phoenix, Arizona. The garden covering an area of 140 acres, exhibits more than 21,000 plants and more than 4,000 plant species. There is also an area inside the garden dedicated solely to rare, threatened, and endangered plant species. Rich collections of agave and cacti are present in the area along with desert plants which include the Australian collection, a Baja California collection, and South American collection. The garden has a special characteristic to preserve the plants in their natural ecosystems and thus has a variety of ecosystems preserved inside the premises. To name a few are a mesquite bisque, semi-desert grassland, and upland chaparral.

The Phoenix Zoo is one of the largest non-profit zoos in Arizona, built in 1962. Sprawling over an area of 125 acres, the zoo has been entitled as a 'Phoenix Point of Pride.' The place currently houses more than 1,400 animals in its premises. The zoo has four main trails- the Arizona Trail, the Africa Trail, the Tropics trail, and the Children's trail. The Arizona trail depicts the flora and fauna of Arizona. The Africa trail exhibits some of the most popular animals in the world, including mandrill, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, white rhinos, and many more. The inner trail of the Tropics trail showcases squirrel monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs, Bornean orangutang whereas the outer trail displays Asian elephants, jaguars, Sumatran tigers, and a many more animals. The children trail is the highlight of the expedition which allows the kids to get close to small animals from across the globe, including siamang gibbons, and caracal.
