Pitt Rivers Museum was originally built in 1884 by General Pitt Rivers when he was an influential figure in the development of archeology and evolutionary anthropology. 1. Performing Tibetan Identities : Photographic Portraits by Nyema Droma

From the October 13, 2018 to May 30, 2019, there is a photography exhibition displaying the artworks owned by a young Tibetan photographer, Nyema Droma. As a young photographer, this is her first exhibition in a major museum. Her photos are mostly displaying how Tibetans living their life both as the part of global citizens and particularly as a Tibetan who keeps their heritage. Her pictures show one Tibetan wearing a daily life attires and a traditional Tibetan attires.
Not only that the museum is good for its exhibition, the museum is also a perfect place for you to learn how to make some artworks. There are plenty of workshops that are provided by Pitt Rivers Museum every month. The upcoming workshops that are going to be held in Pitt Rivers Museum are 'Poetry @the Pitt: Intrepid Women Workshop' that are going to be held on October 25, 2018 and Grass Basket Workshop which will be held on November 3, 2018. Amantha Edmead is an actress, storyteller and theatre maker. She is very famous for her interactive performances. All ages are welcome to join this activity. 5. Explore the Collections
The collections inside Pitt Rivers museum are mainly consist of photographs, manuscript, sound, and film. The photographs there are of international importance. The manuscripts displays the papers of notable early anthropologists and curators associated with the museum. The sound collection mainly holds unique and historical recordings. For the films, eventhough the collections is in small amount, you can still find unique and historical films there.
