Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral or officially named as Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception is a big cathedral located in the heart of Saigon, Vietnam. The cathedral was built in between 1863 and 1880. The building has two signature tower bell which reach the height of 58 metres. The cathedral is the main cathedral in the city of Saigon. The mass inside the cathedral is held in English and Vietnamese usually on Sunday at 9.30 am.

Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral was built in between 1862 and 1880. The cathedral was basically built in the Romaneque architecture with most of the things in the building were taken from France. The cathedral is dominated with red color bricks which were taken from Marseille. The cathedral also has two tower with the height of 58 meters as the bell tower. The interior design of the cathedral was made to accomodates around 1.200 people. The main altar in the cathedral was made from marble. The statue that was standing in front of the cathedral used to be not the Our Lady in Peace statue. It was originally the statue of diocesan Pigneau de Behaine who spent his life for the Catholicism in Vietnam. In 1945, the statue was removed by the citizens who are againts French's colonization. The Vietnamese priest decided to change the statue into the Our Lady in Peace statue. The statue of Our Lady in Peace was made from marble. In 2005, some people who were hanging out near the statue said that they witnessed the statue shed some tears and it was enough to make the traffic there become a mess at that time.

Usually, the mass will be held on Sunday at 9.30 am and in 5.30 am, 6.30 am. 7.30 am, 9.30 am, 4 pm, 5.15 pm, and 6.30 pm on Sunday. Not only that you can join the mass, you can also come to the cathedral on Catholic big days such as Christmas to celebrate the day with the western atmosphere. It is also recommended to go there by bus. You just need to make sure when and where the bus will depart. If you are taking a bus, the tour will take around 45 minutes.

From June 2017, Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral is still on renovation which is expected to be finished in June 2020. Visitors are not allowed to enter the cathedral. Only Catholic believers who wants to join the mass are allowed.
