Sinhagad is one the most popular hill fortresses of India situated near about 36km southwest of Pune, Maharashtra. It's believed that it could have been built some 2000 years back. The Kaundinyeshwar temple in the fort offers many spectacular attractions like caves and the carvings of the temple.

The English translation of the fort's name is 'Lion Fort' which itself is enough to make the place a sought-after destination. As per some of the beliefs, the fort was built around 2000 years ago and initially named Kondana. What Should I Wear?

While visiting the Sinhagad fort, you can wear anything that makes you feel comfortable. However, certain points are worth considering. Since it's a hill fortress and trekking is one of the major attractions at Sinhagad, you must avoid high heels and skirt or mini skirts that might be risky amidst wild bushes and tall grass across the hills.
