Skinny Buddha which is located in the center of Mandalay city is a Buddha statue that is considered as one of a kind. As you know, most of Buddha statues are fat while this Buddha looks very skinny till you can see its lateral bones. The Skinny Buddha statue looks like a person who has a very skinny body that you are able to see its lateral bones and its arm bones. One thing that you can do when you are visiting Skinny Buddha is pay respect to it. There are several carpets that are purposedly placed for the pilgrims.
2. The Sleeping Buddha
Behind the Skinny Buddha statue, there is a Reclining Buddha statue. The Sleeping Buddha statue is seated on a 2 meters pedestal and the statue itsel lies in the length of around 30 meters. All statues in Skinny Buddha were built in 2011. The Sleeping Buddha was built like it was wearing the clothes of a Buddhist monk. Different with the Skinny Buddha statue, you are not recommended to pray or worship here. However, this statue is worth your visit as it was a literally beautiful statue.
3. The Monastery and Other Statues
Inside the Skinny Buddha complex, there is one monastery that is being the house of the monk there. One thing that you can do here is meet the monk there and ask for blessing in your whole life. There are also many statues that were put surrounding the Skinny Buddha. The statues are not only in the form of Buddha statues, but also other statues like one tall statue of Arjuna and a monument. Some of the statues are also available for you if you want to pray or worship it.

If you are planning to go to Skinny Buddha, it is recommended to buy the ticket directly from the ticket booth there. The tickets are usually cost around six to seven thousand kyats.
How To Get Around?
To get around Skinny Buddha it is best to go by foot because you will have outdoor tour and you will also get to move to another place in a fast pace.
What Should I Wear?
To have some tour around Skinny Pagoda, there is no fixed dress code that you need to follow. However, you need to always cover your arms and your knees. Also, wear a comfortable shoes so that you can walk around the complex in comfort.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Skinny Buddha is when the weather is not too hot and perfect to enjoy the sunset, between 3 pm to 6 pm. Skinny Buddha is open every day from 6 am to 8 pm. This pagoda is not very famous so it will be very convenient for you to visit this statue.

It is okay to go have a tour on Skinny Buddha without guide, but if you want to know the history for each exhibition or things that displayed there, it will be very recommended to use a guide.
