History of Skypoint Observation Deck

History of Skypoint Observation Deck

The Q1 Building that houses the Skypoint Observation Deck was built from 2002 to 2005. The tower finally opened to public on 26 October 2005 with an observation deck named the Q1 Observation Deck which was managed by Sunland. However, in 2006, it was sold to the MFS Group, and the name was changed to the QDeck. The observation deck was then sold again in 2009, this time to Ardent Leisure. In the next year, the observation deck was rebranded with the new name, Skypoint. While the popular attraction, the SkyPoint Climb was constructed from 26 September 2011 and officially opened on 14 January 2012. The SkyPoint Observation Deck was a success and has become one of the most popular tourist attractions on Gold Coast. Ardent Leisure then combined the ticketing options with other Gold Coast attractions that belong to them. Those attractions are the Dreamworld and WhiteWater World.
