Universeum which is located in the south-eastern part of Gothenburg is a public science center and museum. The Universeum was built in 2001 and it is also a part of Evenemangsstråket, the thoroughfare of events – close to Korsvägen and Skånegatan – which includes sights of interest like Scandinavium, Ullevi, Svenska Mässan (Swedish Exhibition Centre), Liseberg and the Museum of World Culture. Universeum was divided into six sections that contain experiment workshops and a collection of reptiles, fish, and insects.

1. Kalejdo

1. Kalejdo

Kalejdo is basically a place where the museum exhibits things related to space. In Kalejdo, visitors will be able to get the experiences about outer space in detail. Kalejdo also provides an exhibition about International Space Station (ISS). In this exhibition, the visitors will visit a large models of real space pods and learn how astronauts research and discover new things about outer space.

Explora is a section inside Universeum which exhibit about human and technology. Here, the exhibition is mainly focus on human's health. You can test your flexibility, elasticity, stamina, and also balance here. Your visit here will be very beneficial for you since you can also learn about your body and soul more deeply.

3. Vattnets Väg

Looking for a green place inside the museum? Then directly go to Vattnets Väg. Vattnets Väg is basically an exhibition that shows things about nature. Here, you will be able to learn about animals and plants directly from the sources. Inside Vattnets Väg, you can also take a look on some species of freshwater fishes. The tour inside Vattnets Väg will not only educates you with its collections but it will also give you some sensation of relaxation with its green and fresh environment.

Akhvariehallen or The Ocean Zone is an aquarium located inside the Universeum. The aquarium contains 1,4 million litres of seawater and many species of seawater fishes. The tour inside Akhvariehallen will take you into a tunnel with the aquarium above you. Inside the aquarium, you will be able to see many big fishes like sharks and stingrays. Not only big fishes, you can also see some cute little fishes like clown fish and paletter surgeonfish that looks like Nemo and Dory from Finding Nemo.

Regnskogen or The Rainforest is an artificial rainforest that also functions as the home for many Amazonian animals and plants. Regnskogen is divided into four areas which are The River Temple, The Canyon, Sloth Mountain, and The Kapok Tree. Inside Regnskogen, you will find so many animals ranging from many species like arapaima, pied tamarins, sloths, and the cute but creepy goeldi's marmosset. You can also find some plants like vanilla, monstera, papaya, and calabash tree.

6. Dödliga Skönheters

Welcome to the deadliest zone of Universeum. Dödliga Skönheter or The Deadly Zone in Universeum is an exhibition where it shows the deadly animals in the world. Inside Dödliga Skönheter, you will be able to see ts collection of the most venomous creatures on earth, but also some of the most endangered and rare species. Some of the reptiles that you can see inside Dödliga Skönheter are king cobra, Gila monster, horned snakes, and also some vipers from all over the world.

How to Get Tickets?

If you are planning to visit Universeum, it is very recommended to book the ticket online from the park's official website. There are several choices of tickets that you can choose here. The tickets here are sale based on the age of the visitors. The Barn ticket is the ticket for children in the age of 3 to 16 years old. The Barn tickets are cost for 135 SEK. The Vuxen ticket is the ticket for adults which cost for 190 SEK. Then, the Senior ticket is the ticket for seniors with the ages of 65 or more. The Senior tickets are cost for 155 SEK.

How To Get Around?

To have some tour Universeum it is best to go by foot because you will have an outdoor tour and you will also get to move to another place in a fast pace.

If you are planning to visit Universeum, it is very recommended to go by bus.The Universeum is located next to Liseberg amusement park. The bus will depart from Gothenburg Central Station in the center of Gothenburg and the ride will took around 10 minutes.
