Wyler Aerial Tramway is an aerial tramway that is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The complex area covers 196 acres (0.79 km2) and located in east side of Franklin Mountains State Park, El Paso, Texas, United States. This place offers facilities including the platforms, gift shop, restroom, and the tram itself. Initially this is was built in 1959 by KTSM radio to aid the construction of a transmitter tower. As time goes by after the extensive renovation, at 2001 this area was opened for public and become tour destination. Here you will take around and see the beautiful view of two countries and three states park as well as 7,000-square miles worth of territory from Ranger Peak. While waiting to set out, through a window on the south side of the base station, you can see part of the machinery and mechanism of the system. The gondolas travel on 2,600 feet along, 1 3/8 in diameter steel cable. It takes around four-minutes ride taking you to Ranger Peak and you will be accompanied by a park ranger that also will describe the cacti and rock formations along the way. How to Get Tickets?
To visit Wyler Aerial Tramway, it's free for the entrance and to ride the gondola you can get the tickets at the tramway station. The round tour ride is $8 for adult (13 years and older) and $4 for child (12 years and under).
