A Buddhist temple, Onsenji, stands in the North of the town. It contains a beautiful hot spring bath for visitors. As you walk a little ahead of the temple, you will see Yunodaira Marsh. This is the place where most hot water bubbles of the town spring up from the ground. The northern shores of Lake Yunoko also contain some bubbles. In fact, the entire town is dipped in a pleasant sulfur odor.

How To Get There?

For overseas visitors, Narita International Airport, in Tokyo, is the closest touch point. Tobu bus connects the central Nikko with Yumoto Onsen. These buses leave the station every other hour. For a one way trip, you will need to spend around 1700 yen and it will take about 80 minutes. Once you’ve got on the bus the exciting journey to a marvelous region starts right away.
