Bandar Seri Begawan is an understated place with a couple of large mosques and a wedding cake of a hotel. The city is built on oil money which tends to be flashy for its ostentatious places. The urban life of Bandar Seri Begawan pretty much revolves around two pastimes; one is shopping, and the other one is eating. Apart from the city's enduring love for karaoke, there is no nightlife virtually. Bandar Seri Begawan possesses beautiful museums along with the biggest water village in the world which offer a small slice of old Malay life.
