Two main portals which are made of stone are emphasized at the main facades.
The Granada Cathedral also known as the Cathedral of the Incarnation is a church of the Roman Catholic, acts as the seat of the Archdieocese of Granada. There are five naves in the rectangular base of the cathedral which cover the cross in the bas completely. Two towers are located at the cathedral's base. A framed structure forms a triumph arch with canvas and portals and three pillars and semi-circular arches which are supported by pilasters.
The Court of the Lions is actually a courtyard of the dynasty of Nasrid and is also named as the Palace of the Lions and is located in the centre of the Alhambra. It is an oblong courtyard and the support of a low gallery. There are colourful tiles paved in the base and the white marbles is embedded in the colonnade. The major colour combination is of gold and blue or yellow and blue. There are a number of columns, piers, arches and roofs with pillars. In the middle is the Fountain of Lions with 12 lions made of white marble.
The Nasrid Palaces are attached to the Alhambra and housed the Muslim Kings of the city. The Palace of lions, the courtyard and the fountains are all housed in the palaces of the Nasrid. A number of gardens and orchards surround the palaces which acted as the recreational spots of the kings and their fellow families.
Granada is located at the meeting point of the four rivers namely the Genil, the Beiro, the Darro and the Monachil.
