Located on the Castle Hill, right above the downtown of Ljubljana, the Ljubljana Castle is a castle complex and is considered to be one of the most important landmarks of the city. Constructed in the 11th century, formerly it was a medieval fortress and it was probably built again in the 12th century. It was then treated as a defense structure. The castle is depicted on the city's coat of arms, along with a dragon on top. A number of important towers make the structure of the castle including the Panoramic tower, the Tower of the shooters and the Tower of Erasmus.
The Dragon Bridge is actually a road bridge which is located in the city. It goes across the Ljubljanica River which connects Ressel Street and Kopitar Street. It is one of the best examples of reinforced concrete bridges. The original name of the bridge was The Jubilee Bridge of the Emperor Franz Josef I. In the year 1919, in the month of July, the name of the bridge was changed to Dragon Bridge. The bridge has been built to the Melan System as it had no supporting stage. The bridge soon became a symbol of the city due to its four dragon statues standing on the pedestals at its four corners.
The Ljubljana Old Town is the heart of the historic city. Ljubljana has now developed and emerged as a great place from the medieval roads and walled city. The most recognizable three images of the city are included in the Old Town namely the monument to the poet France Preseren, the pink façade of the Franciscan Church and the Plecnik's triple Bridge. The Lake Bled is one of the major attractions of the city. The lake has been named after a city named Bled as it passes from the city. The water of the lake is intensely blue. The Triple Bridge is a group of three bridges which move across the Ljubljanica River. It connects the modern city of Ljubljana with the historic and medieval Old Town Ljubljana on the other side. The centre of the bridge is made of Glinica Limestone. The other parts are made of concrete. The 642 balusters that make up the balustrades are made of artificial concrete. The platform of the bridge is covered in granite blocks.
