Dragon Bridge

Dragon Bridge

The Dragon Bridge is actually a road bridge which is located in the city. It goes across the Ljubljanica River which connects Ressel Street and Kopitar Street. It is one of the best examples of reinforced concrete bridges. The original name of the bridge was The Jubilee Bridge of the Emperor Franz Josef I. In the year 1919, in the month of July, the name of the bridge was changed to Dragon Bridge. The bridge has been built to the Melan System as it had no supporting stage. The bridge soon became a symbol of the city due to its four dragon statues standing on the pedestals at its four corners.

The Ljubljana Old Town is the heart of the historic city. Ljubljana has now developed and emerged as a great place from the medieval roads and walled city. The most recognizable three images of the city are included in the Old Town namely the monument to the poet France Preseren, the pink façade of the Franciscan Church and the Plecnik's triple Bridge. After crossing the Triple Bridge, is a Central Market in the town which is pretty famous for its products. The open Kitchen is another major landmark in the city.

Lake Bled

Lake Bled

The Lake Bled is one of the major attractions of the city. The lake has been named after a city named Bled as it passes from the city. The water of the lake is intensely blue. You can take a boat ride in the lake and take a tour of the city premises. A small island is also situated in the middle of the island. The scenic views of the lake are great and mesmerizing. You can actually feel the blue of the lake and how each second makes it look even more beautiful as you stare it for long.

Triple Bridge

Triple Bridge

The Triple Bridge is a group of three bridges which move across the Ljubljanica River. It connects the modern city of Ljubljana with the historic and medieval Old Town Ljubljana on the other side. The centre of the bridge is made of Glinica Limestone. The other parts are made of concrete. The 642 balusters that make up the balustrades are made of artificial concrete.
