London is also reachable by trains and buses from any nearby cities or European countries. We advice you to purchase Oyster Card if you're planning to go by bus.
It's never a bad thing to bring an adaptor with you during your packing. Actually, don't ever forget to bring an adaptor for the 3-pin UK outlets.
