Sports arena meets circus, Colosseum is a huge stadium that was used by the gladiators to fight wild animals or each other. Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, this Ancient Rome heritage is divided into three parts: the arena, viewer's seatings, and a podium (for emperors, senators, and VIPs).
Considered as the most spectacular church in Italy, St. Peter's Basilica contains some of the best and valuable works of art; such as the Pietaby Michaelangelo, fragments of mosaic by Giotto, Michaelangelo's dome, the statue of Constantine by Bernini, and many more. This centerpiece of the Vatican was built in 16th to 18th century, and the funding endeavor of this costly church was the one that motivates Martin Luther King to initiate the Protestant reformation.

You may have seen this scene in numerous movies: when in Rome, toss a coin into a water of Trevi Fountain, thus ensuring that you'll return to Rome. It is a classic, kinda-cute and romantic tradition that has been going on for many years. Trevi Fountain's design displayed a sculpt of Sea-God Oceanus in a shell-shaped carrier being led by Tritons with seahorses.
Sistine Chapel is a part of Vatican Museums that everyone's eager to see. It is the home of two most famous works of art in the world: Michaelangelo's ceiling frescoes and his Guidizio Universalepainting. Colorful biblical characters were carefully hand-painted in ceilings and walls--creating a breathtaking view and meaningful experience.

But if you're looking for the most budget-friendly and convenient public transportation, we highly recommend you to take Public Transit Bus service that runs 24 hours with broad city route coverage.
What Should I Wear?
Except if you're going to religious sites, such as Vatican (where you should wear modest clothes covering knees and shoulders), you are free to wear anything you're comfortable with. Best Time to Visit
October to April are considered to be the best time to visit Rome. It's considered as a low season when there are less tourists and much cooler weather. However, be sure to wear a warm jacket to protect you from the cold.
Will I Need a Guide?
Hiring a guide for your whole stay in Rome is not needed since it's very possible to stroll around the city and visit the tourist attractions relying on guidebooks, travel brochures, road signs, ang Google map. However, hiring a guide for a day or two when you're visiting specific tourist attractions, such as Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, can make your travel easier since they're huge and complex sites. Entering the Colosseum without a guide is a great choice but if you wish to see the Colosseum underground and third ring areas, you can only enter with a guide. We also recommend booking a guided tour for special occasions in Rome instead of a daily tour, such as night time tour at the Colosseum. Other than that, exploring the city on your own is not a bad choice at all.

However, avoid parking your car in deserted areas since most car thefts are common in such areas. Don't accept anything before asking how much it costs. Don't ride taxis that offer fixed price. Even though the drivers might say it's cheaper, metered fares are actually cheaper. Bring more cash and don't rely on credit cards since local shops, especially the ones on the streets usually only accept cash. Learning a few important and useful Italian words can be helpful suring your trip. The plug types in Rome and Italy are type F and L. Type F has two round pins, while type L has three round pins.
