Swiss National Museum
Swiss National Museum is an art museum located in Zurich and was built in 1898 by Gustav Gull. He had impressive architectural skills and designed a number of towers, parks, and courts. The museum has the cultural history of the city at the time of the Middle Ages in the form of modern art. The collections gallery of the museum has a number of switzerland furnishings like an Armoury Tower, a Coin Cabinet and a Diorama of the Battle of Murten.
Chinese Garden is located in the city of Zurich. The terrain of the garden is rectangular and the central element of the garden is the pond. It is surrounded by a low wall. Zurich Zoologischer Garten
Zurich Zoologischer Garten is a zoo which was opened in 1929 and has a collection of almost 2,000 animals with 300 species. The Penguin Parade is a major attraction of the zoo and is performed daily if the temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or even less. Asian Elephant exhibit is a famous feature that takes place inside a dome and the guests can view it from underwater.
Zurich Opera House
Zurich Opera House is home to the Zurich Ballet. The first permanent theatre of the Opera House was built in 1834 and was burnt down in 1890. The newly built theatre was the home to the main performances of drama, musical events, and opera. However, the building was demolished later. After numerous rounds of restorations the Zurich Opera House was built and the auditorium of the present has a seating capacity of 1,200 people.
Lake Zurich extends to the southern part of the city. There are only 2 bridges over the lake: The Seedamm and the Burkliplatz. 17 passenger ships offer tourist services to carry passengers across the lake. Ferry services are also available. Towns situated along the lake are Zurich, Thalwil, Horgen, Lachen, Stafa, Meilen, and others. The water of the lake is very clean and reaches a temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit. August is probably the best time for taking a swim in the lake.
